Here's my latest work in progress:

I'm making a quick logo animation for Plymouth Rock Studios. These are some stills for you to check out. It will be covered in snow and in the center of the set the "HollywoodEast" logo will be affixed there, made out of sand. The plan so far is to have a camera pan over the hillside and into close up shots of the snowy letters. A wire and paper flower will spring up from the snow and the camera will pan away to reveal the logo.

I'll post more as I go.

Okay people, so I'm finally coming down off of my Ottawa International Animation Festival high. The degree project I made at Massachusetts College of Art, "I Slept With Cookie Monster," was accepted into the festival and actually won two awards! I feel so fortunate that my work has meant something to so many people. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful feedback!

But now it's time to get back to the "real world," which means back to finishing my freelance project and FINDING A JOB. Boo.

I thought I would share my latest work with those of you interested in checking, and hopefully get some feedback. I'm doing some short work for a company making a documentary about a Jewish anthropologist who wrote a book in the '50's about African American's connection to their African ancestors. Instead of having lots of reenactments, they wanted to have some animated short sequences, so here's what I've got so far. Any thoughts?(aside from the fact that i can't find a good compression for ANYTHING on blogger?)

sorry sorry! it's been several weeks since i've posted anything. i finally graduated from mass college of art and design, so i've been taking a major art break.

this is the latest project i worked on (simultaneously with my degree project). it was a group project where we tried to cut a trailer to the original "nosferatu" film (1920's version?). it was originally supposed to be a cohesive trailer, but uh...it turned into something different. enjoy :)

i've pretty much finished the animation for my degree project, but OH GOD- i have to color it. i'm probably minutes away from a nervous breakdown, so i had to eat my feelings through brownie batter and now i'm "too sick to work on dp." the world works in mysterious ways.

so this is my degree project animatic (though it's partly animated). the final version will be entirely in pastels, aside from the violent sequences which are painted, but at the moment it's in a bunch of different styles...including chuncks of black space. the images are also kind of squashed from the bad compression. please let me know what you think. i'm DESPERATE for feedback!

be fair warned...it's intense. i enjoy making people cry with this animation.

i guess now's a good time to talk about my degree project, which is about my brief experience with domestic violence. this clip is from a segment where i talk about my ex husband trying to convince me that i'm incapable of taking care of a baby on my own; which made me think of an animal eating her young. not to fear--it turns out i am entirely capable sucka!

so this is some of my work from the past few years. i didn't realize it was going to be such an artsy reel...hmmm. it's just a test at the moment, but i wonder if it needs a little more diversity? eeek. i should be working on my degree project instead of this. i'm going to animate madusa today, so i'll post that later.
